Health Facts Of Beets

The beet has a long history of cultivation, going way back some 2 millenium BC. Some people like, and some people absolutely despise the taste, but like 'em or not - they are very healthy to eat.

Long ago beets were used to help problems with constipation, but beets are now being recognized as being able to reduce blood pressure very quickly. The ancient Romans used beets to calm fevers, and as they are full of carbohydrates, but low in calories - they are an awesome supply of healthy energy.

Like many other fruits and vegetables, beets are packed full of good vitamins and minerals such as iron, vitamin A, C, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Beat juice is also good for liver health, including diabetic liver, and have been known to lower cholesterol levels in some individuals.

The taste of beets can be very overpowering for some when juicing, but this flavor can usually be tamed by adding a simple ingredient such as carrots, assuming that the ratios are right.
