Health Facts Of Carrots

Carrots are a great vegetable in the sense that the ways in which you can use them is quite diverse. From gormet feasts fit for a king, to a simple peanut butter combo snack, there is no denying the enjoyable snack of a carrot, but they also can be quite good for the human body.

The famous orange color of most carrots is caused by the presence of beta-carotene, which is later transfered to vitamin A in the intestines. Vitamin A makes up the majority of the nutritional value of carrots, which is good for vision, bone health, skin health and the immune system.

Other minerals and vitamins that are taken in by the body when consuming carrots are iron, magnesium, B6, Vitamin C, and Calcium, but there are many more that are also good for the body. A lacking of vitamin A can actually lead to blindness, but at the same time eating too many carrots can cause the skin to take on an orange color.

For many juicers and many juicing recipes, carrots are a huge ingredient, generally acting as a staple for many juice concoctions. The flavor of carrots works quite well when combined with a spice like ginger, and the combination of carrots to apples to ginger is a nutrious and absolutely delicious drink.
