Lettuce is a very mild tasting green that sports a lot of wonderful texture, and can be used in many different ways, with many different types of dishes. It is used all over the world and can be found in salads, burritos, and deli sandwiches, and acts as a wonderful compliment for most meals.

One of the benefits of lettuce is its large containments of water, which can be very helpful for those of us who have a hard time keeping up with the daily recommendation of good ol' H2O.

Lettuce is also jam packed with excellent vitamins. You will find a lot of vitamin A, a little bit of C, and a lot of vitamin K, which is good for promoting healthy bones. On top of the vitamin quality of lettuce, the vegetable also contains a nice dose of the iron mineral, which is thought to be helpful with fighting fatigue, or draginess.

For maximum effect, use Romain lettuce which is the most nutritious of all the lettuces, as it also contains a lot of vitamin B. Again, when combined with other types of vegetables, it can be an excellent game plan for dieting.
